Quarry Project Masonic Research and Preservation Conference The Quarry Project sponsored a nationwide meeting of leaders from Masonic libraries and museums, research lodges, scholarly institutions, and authors on September 27-29, 2013. To give you a taste of the proceedings, this is what happened in the Saturday afternoon session. A select panel of Masonic authors discussed their success stories and lessons learned. The moderator was John Palmer, editor of Knight Templar Magazine. Sanford Holst discussed the intriguing earlier years of Masonry explored in his book Sworn in Secret, including the benefits of visiting local sites and experts from the United Kingdom to the Holy Land. Rich Vandoren, Ph.D. discussed his various articles for periodicals and the Internet. Michael Halleran went into the story-gathering involved in his book The Better Angels of Our Nature, which follows the travails of Masons in the American Civil War who found themselves in the Northern forces or in the South, but were still brothers. Andrew Hammer looked at his book Observing the Craft, and found guidelines for the pursuit of excellence in Masonic labor and observances. The bountiful dinner which followed those discussions included a talk by Christopher Hodapp, the author of Solomon's Builders and the ever-popular Freemasons for Dummies. The conference was held at the George Washington Masonic Memeorial in Alexandira, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC. ________________________________________________________ Rare Masonic books, Civil War, Best Masonic books, Masonic directory, Masons Templars, Masonic research Masonic authors, Civil War2, Templar medals, Table Lodge Buffalo Bill Cody, Quarry Project, Old Time Freemasonry Sworn in Secret, Early American, Knights Templar, Civil War3 Latest books, Born in Blood, Solomon's Temple, Coil's Encyclopedia York Rite, Allen Roberts, John Robinson, 2010 symposium, Allen Price Grand Lodge England, Holy Grail, Kabbalah, Nadia, Robert Burns Masonic education, UCLA, Stonemasons, Scottish Lodge US Lodges, UK Lodges, Canada Lodges, Australia Lodges Templar Swords, Freemason, Templar Trials, Templars Vatican Origin of Freemasonry, Templar history, Freemasons history © 2008-2024 Sanford Holst - web design by webwizards |
